  • Do I need to stay for a year? (NO!)

    The minimum rental period is one month. Move in on the first and move out by the end of the month


    Due to the unit size of our Carleton location, we require 90 days notice.

  • What are the first month's charges?

    Rent (Ongoing)

    • No rent increases for 1 year. 
    • We don't promote a teaser rate to then increase your rate in 5 months. 
    • Move-in after the 19th and pay the next month upfront.
    • All units are month-to-month, excluding our Carleton location where 90 days notice is required.

    Insurance (Ongoing, if applicable)

    • Available for $9.95 plus tax for $5,000 of coverage. Contact us to provide your own.
    • Not provided for items with an engine or parking spots.

    Security Deposit (One-time)

    • Varies by unit size, but generally $25.
    • Reimbursed at move-out with empty unit and proper move-out notice.

    Admin Fee (One-time)

    • One time payment of $25 plus tax.
    • Reimbursed in month 2 if you register for autopay.
  • Do you offer vehicle parking? (YES!)

    We offer outdoor 15' to 25' outdoor parking spots. We also have 10x20 indoor units that are non-heated and climate controlled.


    Our Carleton location offers units with power in case you would like to plug your vehicle in over the colder months.

  • Can I park my boat, trailer, sea door, RV, or motorcycle at Safe Storage Cornwall? (YES!)

    We offer outdoor 15', 20', 25', 30', 35', 40' outdoor parking spots. 


    Motorcycles fit inside our 5x10 units.

  • Do I need to sign a contract to rent a storage unit in Cornwall, Ontario?

    A rental agreement is required before moving in. This helps protect you and us.

  • What is climate controlled storage?

    Simply put: heat, cold and humidity control.


    For most storage purposes, climate control which regulates humidity is not required. However, certain cherished items are best protected from warping, cracking, or mildew. These units are generally kept within the range of 10°C – 25°C, an optimal level for storage. Our Marleau location offers this climate controlled service - drive-up only with no hallways or trolleys.


    Temperature control is heated, which is offered at our Carleton location.

  • What items am I NOT allowed to store in Cornwall, Ontario?

    A: Units are for the dormant storage of items. Occupants may not store food, flammable liquids, stolen goods, hazardous materials, perishables, plants, explosives, firearms, animals, illegal or controlled substances.

  • Can I switch my payment method?

    Log in to your account portal for easy updates. If you need any help with the process, please contact us directly.

  • How are my items kept safe?

    All of our locations feature bright lighting and premium video surveillance. 


    Our Marleau location is fully fenced with keypad access only.
